Rare Gas Systems

  • Deuterium Gas Recovery System

    Deuterium Gas Recovery System

Deuterium treatment of optical fiber is a crucial process for producing low water peak optical fiber. It prevents subsequent combination with hydrogen by pre-binding deuterium to the peroxide group of the optical fiber core layer, thereby reducing the hydrogen sensitivity of the optical fiber. Optical fiber treated with deuterium achieves stable attenuation near the 1383nm water peak, ensuring the transmission performance of the optical fiber in this band and meeting the performance requirements of full-spectrum optical fiber. The optical fiber deuteration treatment process consumes large amounts of deuterium gas, and directly discharging waste deuterium gas after use causes significant waste. Therefore, implementing a deuterium gas recovery and recycling device can effectively reduce deuterium gas consumption and lower production costs.

  • Helium Recovery Systems

    Helium Recovery Systems

High-purity helium is a critical gas for the fiber optic industry. However, helium is extremely scarce on Earth, geographically unevenly distributed, and a non-renewable resource with a high and fluctuating price. In the production of fiber optic preforms, large amounts of helium with a purity of 99.999% (5N) or higher are used as a carrier gas and protective gas. This helium is directly discharged into the atmosphere after use, resulting in a huge waste of helium resources. To address this issue, Shanghai LifenGas Co., Ltd. has developed a helium recovery system to recapture the helium gas originally emitted into the atmosphere, helping enterprises reduce production costs.

  • Krypton Extraction Equipment

    Krypton Extraction Equipment

Rare gases such as krypton and xenon are highly valuable for many applications, but their low concentration in air makes direct extraction a challenge. Our company has developed krypton-xenon purification equipment based on cryogenic distillation principles used in large-scale air separation. The process involves pressurising and transporting liquid oxygen containing trace amounts of krypton-xenon via a cryogenic liquid oxygen pump to a fractionation column for adsorption and rectification. This produces by-product liquid oxygen from the upper-middle section of the column, which can be re-used as required, while a concentrated crude krypton-xenon solution is produced at the bottom of the column.
Our refining system, independently developed by Shanghai LifenGas Co., Ltd., features proprietary technology including pressurised evaporation, methane removal, oxygen removal, krypton-xenon purification, filling and control systems. This krypton-xenon refining system features low energy consumption and high extraction rates, with the core technology leading the Chinese market.

  • Neon Helium Purification System

    Neon Helium Purification System

The Crude Neon and Helium Purification System collects raw gas from the neon and helium enrichment section of the air separation unit. It removes impurities such as hydrogen, nitrogen, oxygen and water vapour through a series of processes: catalytic hydrogen removal, cryogenic nitrogen adsorption, cryogenic neon-helium fraction and helium adsorption for neon separation. This process produces high purity neon and helium gas. The purified gas products are then rewarmed, stabilised in a buffer tank, compressed using a diaphragm compressor and finally filled into high pressure product cylinders.
