In April 2023, Shuangliang Crystalline Silicon New Material Co., Ltd (Baotou) signed a contract with Shanghai LifenGas Co., Ltd. for the supply of the Argon Recovery Plant LFAr-13000, marking the third project collaboration between the two companies. The equipment will support Shuangliang's 50GW large-scale monocrystalline silicon pulling project, providing high-purity argon recycle.
The 13,000Nm³/h argon gas recovery unit, independently developed and supplied by Shanghai LifenGas, employs hydrogenation, deoxidation, and external compression processes. Despite delays in civil construction, the project team overcame numerous challenges to successfully initiate backup system gas supply on November 30, 2023. The full system was commissioned with product gas meeting purity requirements on February 8, 2024, commencing formal gas supply.
The project utilizes advanced hydrogenation and deoxygenation processes along with distillation deep cooling separation. It features a compressor with a pre-cooling unit, catalytic reaction CO and oxygen removal system, molecular sieve purification system, and fraction purification process. The plant's design includes three sets of raw material compressors, two sets of air compressors, and three sets of product compressors, allowing flexible control of gas volumes based on customer production demands.
Joint performance testing by the owner and commissioning personnel revealed an extraction rate of 96%, meeting the owner's requirements with reliable and stable data. Operational practice demonstrated the device's ability to work stably under low load and produce specification-compliant gas, fully satisfying the customer's varying production load demands. After several months of testing, the device has exhibited excellent stability and reliability, earning high praise from the customer.
This high-end argon recovery system, independently developed and manufactured by Shanghai LifenGas, efficiently produces electronic-grade argon and high-purity liquid argon products with 99.999% or higher purity. It serves key industries such as chemicals, electronics, aviation, and aerospace.
