On March 12, 2024, Guangdong Huayan Technology Co., Ltd. and Shanghai LifenGas signed a contract for a high-purity nitrogen generator with a capacity of 3,400 Nm³/h and purity of 5N (O₂ ≤ 3ppm). The system will supply high-purity nitrogen for Phase One of Han's Laser's East China Regional Headquarters Base, supporting an annual production capacity of 3.8G WTOPC batteries.
Civil construction was substantially completed on October 31, 2023. The LifenGas project team began installing the KDN-3400/10Y Nm³/h high-purity nitrogen unit on May 18, 2024. Despite challenges including limited workspace, poor road access, high temperature, frequent typhoons, and delayed external utilities, the team persevered. The backup system installation and commissioning were completed on August 14, 2024, ready for gas supply. The main plant systems were commissioned by October 29, 2024, and began supplying gas to the client.
The facility operates on cryogenic air separation principles, featuring centrifugal air compression with pre-cooling, molecular sieve purification, cryogenic fractionation, and cold energy recovery through exhaust gas expansion.
This set of equipment comprises: air compression system, air pre-cooling system, molecular sieve purification system, turbine expansion system, fractionation columns and cold box, plus instrumentation and electronic control systems.
The unit offers an operational range of 75-105%, accommodating varying production demands. Currently, the equipment is operating steadily, meeting all performance specifications, and has received positive client feedback.
