After the raw nitrogen (volume oxygen content ~1%) produced by the PSA pressure swing adsorption or membrane separation nitrogen system has been mixed with a small amount of hydrogen, the residual oxygen in the raw nitrogen reacts with hydrogen to form water vapour in a reactor equipped with a palladium catalyst. The chemical reaction formula is 2H2+ O2→ 2H2O+ heat of reaction
The high purity nitrogen leaving the reactor is first cooled by the condenser to remove condensate. After drying in the adsorption dryer, the final product is very clean and dry nitrogen (product gas dew point up to -70℃). The hydrogen feed rate is adjusted by continuously monitoring the oxygen content in the high purity nitrogen. The specially designed control system can automatically regulate the hydrogen flow rate and ensure the minimum hydrogen content in the product nitrogen. The on-line analysis of purity and moisture content allows the unqualified products to be automatically discharged. The entire system is fully automated for operation.
