Nitrogen Generator By Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA)

Short Description:

Nitrogen generator by pressure swing adsorption is the use of a carbon molecular sieve adsorbent processed from high quality coal, coconut shell or epoxy resin under pressurized conditions, the diffusion speed of oxygen and nitrogen in the air into the carbon molecular sieve hole, so as to separate the oxygen and nitrogen in the air. Compared with nitrogen molecules, oxygen molecules first diffuse into the holes of carbon molecular sieve adsorbent, and the nitrogen that does not diffuse into the holes of carbon molecular sieve adsorbent can be used as the product output of gas for users.

Nitrogen Purification Systems:

After the raw nitrogen (volume oxygen content ~1%) produced by the PSA pressure swing adsorption or membrane separation nitrogen system has been mixed with a small amount of hydrogen, the residual oxygen in the raw nitrogen reacts with hydrogen to form water vapour in a reactor equipped with a palladium catalyst. The chemical reaction formula is 2H2+ O2→ 2H2O+ heat of reaction
The high purity nitrogen leaving the reactor is first cooled by the condenser to remove condensate. After drying in the adsorption dryer, the final product is very clean and dry nitrogen (product gas dew point up to -70℃). The hydrogen feed rate is adjusted by continuously monitoring the oxygen content in the high purity nitrogen. The specially designed control system can automatically regulate the hydrogen flow rate and ensure the minimum hydrogen content in the product nitrogen. The on-line analysis of purity and moisture content allows the unqualified products to be automatically discharged. The entire system is fully automated for operation.

※The data in this table are based on the conditions of ambient temperature of 20℃, atmospheric pressure of 100 Kpa and relative humidity of 70%. Nitrogen pressure ~ 0.6 Mpa.g. Nitrogen gas was extracted directly from the PSA adsorption bed without deoxygenation and can provide 99.9995% purity of nitrogen.
